UTubeToolkit ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at utubetoolkit.com. We provide a free YouTube transcript extraction tool that lets users extract, view, copy, and download captions from public YouTube videos.
2. What data we collect
2.1 Data you provide voluntarily
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use UTubeToolkit. If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we collect only your name, email address, and the content of your message, solely to respond to your enquiry.
2.2 Data collected automatically
When you visit UTubeToolkit, our hosting provider may log standard server access logs including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and page visited. These logs are retained for a short period for security and performance monitoring only and are not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
2.3 Transcript data
We do not store transcripts. When you paste a YouTube URL and click "Extract", our server fetches the captions from YouTube's public caption endpoint and returns the result directly to your browser. The transcript is never saved to our servers or any database.
3. Cookies
UTubeToolkit does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking script. The site may use a single session cookie strictly necessary for the contact form CSRF protection if applicable; it is deleted when you close your browser.
4. Third-party services
4.1 YouTube / Google
When you extract a transcript, your request passes through our server to YouTube's caption API. Your IP address may be visible to YouTube/Google as part of this outbound request. This use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service.
4.2 Hosting
The website is hosted on a cloud infrastructure provider. Standard hosting access logs may be collected by that provider per their own privacy policy.

6. Data retention
